02 — Styles: Traditional vs Progressive

Trad is moral philosophy at conversational speed; Progressive is faster with theory/K/CP.

Traditional: values, V/C, moral reasoning, slower. Progressive: spreading, theory, Topicality, Kritiks, Counterplans, Disads.

  • Know both. Many tournaments mix judge types.
  • Adapt: slow + explain for lay; technical + efficient for circuit.
