ROB: what a ballot endorses. ROJ: judge’s role.
- Example ROB: Vote for the debater who best reduces structural oppression.
- Example ROJ: Judge as moral educator.
- Justify with fairness/education: your model makes debates better to learn from.
When to use
- Use ROB/ROJ when the debate is about assumptions/method (K, K-Aff) or fairness/education (theory/T).
- Against strict trad judges, prefer V/C and translate ROB into “how to evaluate” language.
Example phrasing
“Role of the ballot is to endorse the debater whose advocacy most reduces structural oppression—this improves fairness and education because it checks exclusionary methods.”
